4th meeting - ECOPORT 8 Steering Committee |

The progress of the ECOPORT 8 activities in the framework of WP4 and WP5, as well as financial and managerial issues were discussed during the 4th meeting of the Steering Committee of the project that was held in Patras Science Park, Greece, on June 22nd. The meeting followed the agenda and constituted, for one more time, a great opportunity for the representatives of the project partners and observers to monitor the progress of the activities undertaken, evaluate the results produced so far and discuss the future activities and reexamine matters of financial and managerial interest. At the end of the meeting it was organized the visit to the port of Patras . |

IMPORTANT RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENTAL RESULTS FOR THE ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT OF THE PORTS On Monday, June 21st, 2010, was held a 2nd Pan-European Forum on the theme of “Environmental Status of SEE ports: strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats” at Patras Science Park S.A.
In his introductory speech, the President and CEO of PSP S.A., Prof. Petros Groumpos, welcomed all participants and underlined that innovation and entrepreneurship could become the tools for compensating the economic crisis which Greece is undergoing. |

Oceanographic Cruise with R/V Urania 08-11.03.2010  Within the framework of joint italian-montenegrin project ADRICOSM-STAR, scientific cruise MNG0301 was done from 8-11 of March 2010. Cruise was conducted by italian research vessel „Urania“ . This is the fifth cruise done within the same project as a continuation of the previous bathymetric, oceanographic and sedimentological investigation in the territorial sea of Montenegro. The investigated area was coastal zone of Montenegrin and Northern Albanian territorial waters. Priority of investigation was given to the area of the Bojana River Delta in order to estimate possible changes after the recent flood in January 2010. The part of cruise was carried out for collection data within the Bokakotorska Bay. |

The 1st PAN-European Forum |

22 February 2010, Bar, Montenegro On Monday, 22 February 2010 in Bar, Montenegro, was held the 1st PAN-European Forum of the project ECOPORT 8 with the theme of "EU Standards analysis on port environmental policies".
This international event is organized by the Institute of Marine Biology from Kotor and the Port of Bar with the support of Patras Science Park (Greece). Theme of the Forum was the National and EU environmental standards with focus on EU Standards analysis on port environmental policies. |

3rd meeting - ECOPORT 8 Steering Committee |

The 3rd meeting of the Steering Committee of the project Ecoport 8 was held in Bar, Montenegro, on February 23, 2010. The central theme of the meeting were activites in the framework of WP4 (context analysis) and WP5 (testing - monitoring surveys on site), and it was also discussed about the Raporting System and Financial Management. Visit to the Port of Bar was organized at the end of the meeting. This meeting was reserved only for the Project Partners and the Observers. |
